We envision a world where a bicycle helps break the cycle of poverty, giving every person the opportunity to reach their full potential. By making mobility accessible, we advance the Sustainable Development Goals and build stronger, more resilient communities.
Challenge
In many parts of rural Gambia, distance is a significant barrier to accessing basic services. For young students, especially girls, the hours-long walk to school is a constant challenge, hindering consistent attendance and academic success. This geographic isolation from critical opportunities perpetuates poverty and limits the potential of individuals and entire families. Furthermore, these long, isolated journeys put young girls at risk of sexual assault, creating a cycle of fear and limited access to education.
Distance is an obstacle to education.
