Meet the Women

Meet the Women in some part of the Gambia

For the women of the Gambia, farming is a way of life and a lifeline for their families. Working tirelessly through both the dry and rainy seasons, they cultivate gardens to provide food, pay for their children’s schooling, and secure their future. devastating, yet devastating, obstacle stands in their way: invasive animals that frequently destroy their hard-earned harvests.

The flimsy, makeshift fences they construct cannot withstand the persistent threat. One moment of hope and hard work can be wiped out in an instant, leaving these mothers and their children to face another season of uncertainty and hardship.

MCO believes in honoring the dignity and resilience of these women. Our work focuses on providing durable, permanent fencing for community gardens, offering a long-term solution that protects their crops and ensures their labor is not in vain. It’s more than a fence; it’s a barrier against poverty and a promise of a more secure future.

Join us to change the narrative of these Women.
