Breaking Barriers for Women and Girls
At Mothers Club Organization, we believe in a world where all women and girls, regardless of ability, can thrive without fear of violence, discrimination, or inequality. Girls and women with disabilities (GWWDs) are disproportionately affected by abuse, sexual violence, and systemic barriers to education, healthcare, and employment. They often face multiple layers of discrimination based on their gender, disability, and socioeconomic status.
Many GWWDs experience persistent poverty and are discriminated against within their own communities and even by family members. This heightened vulnerability is often exploited, leading to a cycle of abuse, fear, and silence. Compounded by a lack of access to education and skills training, this pervasive stigma severely limits opportunities for employment and economic independence.
Our commitment to sustainable development
On March 15, 2020, Mothers Club Organization ratified its commitment to the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), emphasizing the importance of integrating disability issues into sustainable development strategies. This aligns with the UN’s Agenda 2030 and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which prioritize the needs of people with disabilities in areas such as education, employment, health, and economic participation.
To support the SDGs, Mothers Club has established a robust framework of policies and programs designed to meet the needs of vulnerable communities, with a specific focus on GWWDs.
Our Goals
- Economic Empowerment: Foster self-employment and economic growth for GWWDs.
- Increased Self-Esteem: Build confidence and self-worth among GWWDs.
